The Magic Coin
In spring 2010, I wished for the return of something I had lost along the way: passion.
“Make a special wish,” a friend said to me, holding out a coin in front of a fountain. It was spring 2010.
I thought to myself for quite a while.
What do I want? Over the years, I have become a zombie. I no longer have goals; I merely exist. I no longer love my work. I do not have a single hobby that helps me grow. I am not developing in any direction. I have no dreams.
I wish... I wish... that I could find passion in my life again. Something that would help me grow. Suffocate me with ideas. Make me dream. Bring the spark back to my eyes.
That was a magic coin.
In winter 2011, I rediscovered my passion for my work and entrepreneurship. I took my knowledge to a new level, and thanks to a programmer/investor smarter than me, by the end of 2012 we should have successful portals beyond Estonia too. Because after putting in that much effort, the opposite is difficult. :)
In spring 2011, I found a passion for film. Through practice to mastery! There is hope of completing my first series next year; the medium is YouTube and the target is the world.
In summer 2011, I found a passion for photography. It is on the back burner for now, because there are only seven days in a week. But free time and photography go well together. :)
The biggest change came in autumn 2011 — thanks to selling my car and getting bored on the bus, I discovered audiobooks. More precisely, I discovered how fun and motivating it is to learn through them! Compare five hours at university with five hours of audiobooks: one puts you to sleep; the other fills you with knowledge, energy and the desire to conquer the world. You are not too old to change your life and make a complete turnaround in a year either!
Wishing you a hardworking and successful New Year!
