Why I Write
One question we found in Cyprus made the answer very clear: stop chasing perfection and begin now.
My partner and I found some questions in Cyprus that we asked each other.
“What is your greatest achievement so far?” Considering how much I have accomplished professionally, you might expect me to choose a gem from there. But no — my greatest achievement is stepping off that hamster wheel: learning to delegate, accepting myself without constant hard work, and arranging plenty of free time in my life, both to spend with loved ones and to be alone.
“What would you do differently if you knew you had only one year left to live?”
Oh... Without a doubt... I would begin publishing my thoughts in some form. Now. Today. Right now. Every day. EVERY day. Without chasing perfection.
I have three wonderful sons, and more than anything I would like to leave them my knowledge — some from my own experiences, but much of it from notes gathered from hundreds of books on which I have built my life. I want to guide my sons towards a life with peace in their hearts and a spark in their eyes.
What better time could there be to begin than today?
