Live Like a Flower
You do not have to achieve anything with your life. You may — if you enjoy it. But you do not have to.
The meaning of life is ... (drum roll) ... simply to live! It really is that simple. Like a flower in a meadow. You do not have to achieve anything with your life. You may, of course — if you enjoy it. But you do not have to.
The world is not a problem to solve, but a performance to enjoy. Problems do not really exist at all; they live in our own heads when we refuse to accept reality as it is.
And let the other “flowers” around us live their lives as they wish. It hardly matters whether we work 24/7 to change them — they will remain themselves anyway. When we are no longer here one day, everything will settle into place in the way it was meant to.
None of this means that our lives are meaningless. The point is simply to live — today! Like a little flower in a meadow. Some days the sun shines; some days it rains. And sometimes a cow looks at us as if it would like to eat us. 🙂 There is no need to worry about that either; the outside world was never truly under our control.
The only thing we can change at all is the thought currently in our head. If it is negative, we do not have to carry it voluntarily. If it is positive, enjoy it! Perhaps we should live each day as a life of its own — then we spend more time on what truly matters.
A moment will come when we leave this planet forever; before long, our great-grandchildren will too. In the larger picture, not a single trace of our lives will remain. Nor does one need to.
What matters is not the future or our goals, but today and this present moment. Nor does the opinion of the other flowers and cows matter — what matters is how WE OURSELVES want to live.
And remember: flowers that are still growing will not wither any time soon. Whatever our age, we should always have the courage to admit that we are still ignorant — still “in the growing stage”. We all have role models we look up to. We can feed on their thoughts so that we too may grow taller.
Live your life like a flower. Like a flower that is still growing.
